ANIMAL TRACKS
Since 2020, my project " SIGNATURES " has drawn its inspiration from the acoustic world of animals.
My work gives shape to the sound signatures of animals by offering an artistic interpretation of spectrograms , these visual representations of sounds.
This approach, in its intention, allows me to connect human and non-human animals, sounds and images, art and science, to pay poetic homage to the richness of life.
This project originated in tattooing and is now also available in other forms, through the exploration of new mediums, such as linocutting and ceramics.
A TRIBUTE TO THE LIVING
" At the current rate of species extinction, the planet will lose 75% of its species in 500 years . This 6th extinction is this time caused by a single species, the human species ." (Source OFB / IPBES )
We all notice the collapse of biodiversity when we listen to what is around us: the song of the swallows is more discreet; the chirping of insects is less numerous; some have disappeared.
Our soundscapes are becoming poorer.
Because we risk that "our springs becoming silent," as Rachel Carson feared in 1962, my work is an artistic contribution to the necessary voice we must raise to alert about the threats weighing on the animal world.
By focusing on the fragility of their sound universe, I also and above all want to invite you to pay attention to beauty, to notice the richness of animal cultures, the complexity of communications and languages, to the importance of the vast worlds that live all around us.
"We must not forget that these songs are disappearing, but that they will disappear even more if we do not pay attention to them. And that with them will disappear multiple ways of inhabiting the earth, inventions of life, compositions, melodic scores, delicate appropriations, ways of being and importances."

ENGAGED ART
It is also about providing concrete support to those who are committed on the ground to their defense and protection. Every year, I support organizations working for life and biodiversity, by donating a portion of the proceeds.
Because we will all benefit from nurturing a relationship of wonder and friendship with the living, rather than dissociating ourselves from them,
Because our non-human roommates are the innocent victims of human activities that we can choose to avoid,
Because during this time some people make the small, irresponsible and cowardly choice to destroy, enslave, hunt down, torture, kill, dominate,
THANK YOU to all of you who support this work and make these donations possible.
MY JOURNEY

After studying philosophy, I worked for 15 years as a researcher in the field of end-of-life and palliative care.
Then, quite unexpectedly, tattooing entered my life in 2018 when I got my first handpoke tattoo. It was a turning point.
I then started training and then tattooing alongside my job.
After 4 years of practice, I started full-time as a tattoo artist in spring 2023.
Since then, my work interpreting the acoustic signatures of animals has explored new territories and is expressed in ceramic installations or linocut creations.
WHY "MUSHI"?
Originally, "MUSHI" was a term that referred in Japanese to all living beings, human AND non-human.
Well, I think I just like knowing that we're in the same boat, them and us.
