CERAMIC SCULPTURES AND INSTALLATIONS

FROM ANIMAL TO YOUR TATTOO

My approach is part of contemporary proposals of the phonocene concept by focusing on the transitions, erasures and mutations of our soundscapes.

More specifically, my work aims to highlight the richness and fragility of animal sound worlds, to pay homage to non-human presences.

My process gives shape to their acoustic signatures by offering an artistic interpretation of spectrograms , these visual representations of sounds, to reveal the fragile singularity of animal presences.

Each creation is unique, created from documented sounds, researched in scientific literature, fieldwork or sound libraries.

By making visible the sound imprints of non-human animals and translating them into sensitive forms, my approach proposes a plastic memory of acoustic life , while inviting an experience of attention, where the plurality of animal worlds can coexist.

"THE SUSPENDED SONG",
a forest installation.

The "Suspended Song" was installed during BACK TO THE TREES, an artistic event that invites artists into the forest: visual arts, word arts, music and sound arts, performing arts, etc.

This ceramic installation showcases the songs of three birds: the common Blackbird, the Blue Tit, and the Eagle Owl.

"Nestled in the trees like an echo, three ceramic installations invite us to consider the fragile richness of our soundscapes.

Created from spectrograms – which translate sound into images – these clay pieces reveal the acoustic signature of three bird songs.

Three silent, suspended songs, to pay homage to the presence of non-human living beings, but also to bear witness to their gradual disappearance.

As the voices of the wild grow fainter, let us raise our own for them, before our springs grow silent.
