FAQ
If you don't find the answer to your questions here, don't hesitate to contact me :)
1. “Flash” are the designs offered by tattoo artists.
Most often, flash tattoos are tattooed "as is", meaning they cannot be modified.
However, the size is always adjusted according to your body shape, your wishes and what is possible with the chosen design (for example, some flashes cannot be reduced, but can be enlarged).
Also, if you have a particular request (e.g.: change of color, drawing to be done in symmetry on 2 areas of the body, etc.), do not hesitate to share your ideas with me and I will tell you if it is feasible.
They are unique and exclusive: no one else will have the same tattoo as you.
My Flashes are available on my Instagram account.
If you don't use Instagram, feel free to email me if this or that animal exists in Flash!
2. Custom Projects are an "order" from you to create your tattoo according to your idea.
Your projects are an opportunity for me to deepen my research, to discover animals I would not have thought of and to create your tattoo together, as close as possible to what links you to this animal.
Based on the animal you have chosen, I will conduct research to identify existing recordings and sounds. I will then suggest several variations (as close as possible to the spectrogram, in symmetry, superpositions, etc.) so that you can find the chosen one!
To find out all the details of each procedure, information documents are available in PDF on the "Make an appointment" page.
Getting a "Handpoke" tattoo means getting a tattoo done by hand, point by point, without an electric machine (dermograph), in the same way as traditional tattooing methods.
The minimum price is €100.
This helps cover the costs of what is called "needle opening", i.e. consumable materials used during the session, session preparation time, workshop rent and materials, etc.
There is a price difference between Flash and Custom Projects, the latter being more expensive than Flash, since they are created specifically for you, based on your request.
Then the price varies depending on the pattern, size and location:
Contrary to popular belief, small tattoos don't necessarily mean cheap! Creating small tattoos requires technical skill and a level of precision that can take time.
Some locations are more complex to tattoo than others and therefore require more technical skill and time (for example: ribs, flank, neck, throat, torso, chest, stomach, ears, fingers, instep, face).
Finally, the price includes the healing balm that I use during the session and that I will give you at the end of the session if you wish for the care (composed of olive oil, calendula macerate, fine lavender essential oil and vitamin E. All organic of course!).
NB: if I tattoo you as a Guest (i.e. outside my own salon, at other tattoo artists'), there will be a supplement of €60 to cover travel, accommodation and participation in the costs of the salon that invited me.
Generally, yes.
Indeed, tattooing by hand, point by point, requires more time than a machine tattoo (2 to 3 times more time depending on the locations and designs).
Most of the time, handpoke is less painful than a machine tattoo.
But it will also depend on your sensitivity, the size of the pattern and the location.
To book a Flash and a date for your session and/or to start the work of creating your personalized project, you must pay a deposit of €50.
The deposit is then deducted from the final price of your tattoo.
You can pay them by bank transfer.
All conditions are detailed in the information documents available on the "Make an appointment" page.
If possible, please give at least one week's notice before the appointment date.
This allows me to maintain my good organization and offer the appointment to another person.
I will then suggest a new appointment date.
If you cancel again, the deposit will not be refunded.
If you are forced to cancel due to a compelling reason and without the possibility of agreeing on a new appointment date, your deposit will be refunded.
Finally, if you do not come to the appointment without prior notice, the deposit will not be refunded.
Comfort above all!
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and underwear.
If you are getting tattooed on your arms or legs, come with a short-sleeved T-shirt or tank top and shorts.
Avoid coming with clothes that are important to you: there is always a risk of staining them during the session (inks, oils, etc.).
There is everything you need to keep you warm on site (if you stay still for several hours, you can get cold): blankets, throws, slippers.
Plan to have little things to nibble on during breaks (cakes, chocolate, seeds, dried fruit, etc.)
If the session is scheduled for a day: Bring lunch. A refrigerator and food warming supplies are available if needed.
To prepare yourself well before the session, read the document dedicated to the "Make an appointment" page.
Yes, you can come with someone, up to one person and with the exception of young children.
On the big day, I will give you all the advice you need to take good care of your tattoo in the days and weeks that follow.
They are also available in PDF on the “Make an appointment” page.
But here are the main important points to anticipate in order to plan the date of your session and to promote good healing.
For 1 month after the session:
No baths, hammam, sauna, swimming pool
No sun exposure
Do not practice any sport intensively or that puts stress on the tattooed area: friction and perspiration will complicate your healing.
If any adjustments are needed, please do not hesitate to schedule another appointment to refine what needs to be done.
You can come within 6 months of your tattoo, at no additional cost.
You can pay in cash, by instant bank transfer or, exceptionally, by credit card.
No, I never tattoo the same design twice.
Each tattoo is unique and personal.
Unless of course you come with several people to get a joint tattoo :)
It all depends on your request, but generally I don't do covers.
With the exception of certain simple and "universal" symbols (e.g.: heart, moon, sun, etc.), I do not reproduce the tattoos that you find on the internet.
For what ?
Because these are drawings and tattoos created by other tattoo artists or illustrators: it's their work, their creation, their intellectual property. Reproducing them without their consent is theft. Ethics dictate that we respect the work of others :)
All Flash and drawing suggestions that I send you are intellectual property.
Therefore, out of respect for my work, you agree to have the chosen design tattooed with me and not with another tattoo artist without my consent (this would be theft and contrary to the ethical values that bind us together).
If you came to me, it's because it's my work that interests you! And if I put all my seriousness into working on your projects, your seriousness is also expected in return 😊
So plan to be able to come to Besançon and have the necessary budget to get your tattoo done.
If you have any difficulties with this, please let me know and we will always find solutions!
For example, it may be possible to pay in installments or, exceptionally, to transfer the rights to a design to you.
Because you often ask me, here is the playlist that you have in your ears - most of the time - during my tattoo sessions!
You must be 18 years old to get a tattoo.
For minors aged 17 and over, the presence and authorization of one of the two representatives of parental authority is mandatory.
